I would advise you to do the walk that way and finish in Oxted as you will find more pubs and restaurants there for a rewarding drink and meal at the end! I know last time I advised you to end at Otford for drinks and food but that was in comparison to Cuxton where there are very few places. This time we start our walk where we ended the last one: <em><strong>Village d'Otford<\/strong><\/em>. Otford is accessible directly from London Victoria, approximately 35 minutes by train. Otford history traces back to the Iron Age. The village is also the home of Britain&#8217;s smallest building: a duck house, which can be found on a pond in the middle of a roundabout. We walk through the High Street, where we can find plenty of boutiques and cafes, and at the end, we enter the North Downs fields. Our walk in the North Downs starts by following the pass through the fields, crossing over rails tracks until we reach <em><strong>Star Hill<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0We then go up to Star Hill with the path bordered by maize fields and tall leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-399\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"428\" height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theflamingohiker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Screen-Shot-2021-03-18-at-20.12.54.png?resize=428%2C572&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Tall corn leaves boring the path at the bottom of Star Hill, North Downs\" class=\"wp-image-399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theflamingohiker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Screen-Shot-2021-03-18-at-20.12.54.png?w=428&amp;ssl=1 428w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theflamingohiker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Screen-Shot-2021-03-18-at-20.12.54.png?resize=224%2C300&amp;ssl=1 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 428px) 100vw, 428px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Tall leaves at the bottom of Star Hill<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Woods, woods, woods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once at the top, we continue our walk lounging <em><strong>Cooper&#8217;s Wood. <\/strong><\/em>We arrive in <em><strong>Knockholt<\/strong><\/em> &#8211; but not the same Knockholt where we ended our walk from <a href=\"https:\/\/theflamingohiker.com\/fr\/easy-walk-from-orpington-to-knockholt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orpington<\/a> last time. We walk through the wood until we reach\u00a0<em><strong>Parkwood Golf Club<\/strong><\/em>. From there, we have to follow the B2024 in order to get to Oxted. There is a path on the side of the road. Unfortunately, it is not a lovely part of the walk, but we are rewarded at the end with a nice meal waiting for us. We arrive at our final destination, <em><strong>Oxted,<\/strong><\/em> a commuter town located 9 miles (14.48km) from Croydon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone wp-image-402\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/theflamingohiker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Screen-Shot-2021-03-18-at-20.27.29.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"View of the fields, North Downs\" class=\"wp-image-402\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Getting closer to Oxted<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We end our walk in the North Downs at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chefandbrewer.com\/pubs\/surrey\/old-bell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vieille cloche<\/a> for dinner. We enjoy the sun as we sit around a table in the back garden. As usual, I opt for the vegetarian dish: hand-battered lemon and coriander halloumi and chips.
