Let’s take you on another North Downs walk from Otford, where we ended the last walk, to Oxted. I would advise you to do the walk that way and finish in Oxted as you will find more pubs and restaurants there for a rewarding drink and meal at the end! I know last time I advised you to end at Otford for drinks and food but that was in comparison to Cuxton where there are very few places. This time, your best option is Oxted, where we end this walk with a nice traditional pub meal.

Let’s go back to the North Downs with its endless golden fields and evergreen woodlands for a walk from Cuxton to Otford. This walk was part of a training programme with one of my friends for our trip to the Lake District and Scafell Pike ascension – which did not go as planned, but that is a story for another time.

Circulaire de Wendover : Une promenade dans les Chilterns AONB
As we were training for our trip to the Lake District, one of my friends and I decided to go on a long day hike every weekend leading to the holidays. This is how we ended up on a rainy day on a 17 miles (27km) walk from Wendover in the Chiltern AONB. As much as this walk takes you up and down hills, it did not help in any shape or form to train me for Scafell Pike ascension, where I failed miserably and had to turn around – but that is a story for another post.
East Grinstead Circular: A Walk From Water Into Wine
I cannot turn water into wine but I can definitely take you on a walk from a reservoir to a vineyard in the East Grinstead area. And that is still a cool power to have! It was back in early September that our group went on a circular walk in the East Grinstead area. I have already been to East Grinstead for work but never for a hike and it was a lovely discovery to go for a walk in this part of the country.

Sole Street Circular : Une promenade dans le Kent
Back in September, one of my friends who live in Kent organised a circular walk from Sole Street ending in a pub for a traditional Sunday roast. No need to go far for a walk in the countryside: Kent is right on London’s doorstep and offers a variety of walks from a stroll to something more challenging.
