As we were training for our trip to the Lake District, one of my friends and I decided to go on a long day hike every weekend leading to the holidays. This is how we ended up on a rainy day on a 17 miles (27km) walk from Wendover in the Chiltern AONB. As much as this walk takes you up and down hills, it did not help in any shape or form to train me for Scafell Pike ascension, where I failed miserably and had to turn around – but that is a story for another post.

I cannot turn water into wine but I can definitely take you on a walk from a reservoir to a vineyard in the East Grinstead area. And that is still a cool power to have! It was back in early September that our group went on a circular walk in the East Grinstead area. I have already been to East Grinstead for work but never for a hike and it was a lovely discovery to go for a walk in this part of the country.

The Lewes Circular is “probably my favourite walk! From a challenging hilly trail to breathtaking views, I cannot recommend this walk enough. I went there back in September with a friend of mine on an organised day hike. I sometimes do go on a hike with a group, it does save you the trouble of planning and finding routes. It is always a great way to meet new people who share the same interest as you.
